What to pack!

It's Friday, my day off and a really good opportunity to get organized for the month ahead and get packing.  For the record, I just want to say that I don't always jump at opportunities.  I always recognize them, but don't necessarily jump at them.  Today, I am going to try to change that pattern!  Obviously, I will have to do that later because right now I am writing my blog, and that is important.  And soon, the Dog Whisperer is on TV, and as a responsible dog owner, I can't miss that.  Pretty soon, I will start packing.

Packing is one of those things that we all really hate to do, especially when you are packing to be away for a long time.  It's true that I may not have worn my green floral skirt for the last two summers in a row, but now that I look at it, it really is pretty.  I have lost some weight, maybe it looks better now?  How do I know that I am not going to be half way through my vacation and want that skirt?  It is a very real possibility.  I think I should take it just in case.  In my head, I know that this kind of thinking leads to a really big payment at the WestJet counter because my luggage is overweight, and now they only let you bring one suitcase for free, after that, you have to pay.  What self respecting woman can put a month's worth of clothing into one suitcase?  Not me!

So today, my goal is to go through the mountains of clothing that I own (enough for 6 women by the way) and decide which of these clothes will make the trip east.  If I was smart, I would make three piles, one to stay in BC, one to go to Manitoba, and one to donate to charity!  That won't happen by the way.  In fact, just last week I headed to my favourite Reitman's store and purchased some coordinating outfits for my vacation!  Math was never my strong suit, and obviously, I am better at addition than I am at subtraction!

Tomorrow, I will update on how much progress was made today.  I guess the first step will be getting the suitcase from the crawlspace, but my back is kind of sore, so I will have to think about that over a cup of coffee and an episode of Cesar Milan!

PS  Regarding yesterday's post:  For those of you who are very concerned that I may be getting chased through the forest by an amorous Sasquatch, don't worry.  Those who know me well are aware that I am not above using artistic license to sometimes exaggerate the truth for a better story.  The fact is, now that I am getting older, my ability to grow hair is diminished, so I am actually covered in a soft downy coat, not a fur coat!  So please, don't send me razors!
